As it is no coincidence that Gaia Shasta Hotel takes its’ name from the Greek word: “gaia”, meaning “Mother Earth” it is no coincidence that they named the Spa: “Lotus”. The Lotus flower has for centuries been a symbol of healing and purity across many continents. A Lotus is firmly rooted below the water. Its’ stalk rises to the surface where it blossoms with the first rays of the Sun ~ a symbol of enlightenment and spiritual healing. Our desire is to assist our Guests in vacating the stresses of the everyday life and to ascend to a more peaceful state ~ encouraging enlightenment and healing.

The serenity of the river and the beauty of the trees are embraced to create a truly unique and indigenous experience. The Lotus Spa is situated at the edge of the property overlooking the beautiful and serene Sacramento River. We incorporate many of the local flowers and herbs from Gaias’ property in special treatments developed especially for our Guests. ”~ The aroma as you walk through the door, the music, the colors that surround you, and the holistic therapies.
